Formations and Maneuvers Empty
PostSubject: Formations and Maneuvers   Formations and Maneuvers EmptyTue Jan 12, 2010 6:25 pm

Since we are getting into flying in formations, I posted this topic so we can all suggest formations and maneuvers that you would like to try in the squadron. This can be anything ranging from something one pilot can do by him/her self or something the whole squadron can try at the same time (imagine that...a lobby full of 16 pilots flying hurricanes or spitfires in one huge formation). It can also be a formation to be used in combat or just strictly for enjoyment.

Yes, unfortunately I was busy. I hope to get back on and do some flying soon. I have quite the busy next few weeks. Hope i didn't miss too much fun, I hope to be back on flying with you guys soon though so don't worry Wink

Also I've been looking into formations we can do. Here are some pictures of what we can try:

This one is a simple arrow formation.

Formations and Maneuvers Spitfire-site-65sqn-1939-708446
This one is just a Echelon formation.

Formations and Maneuvers Hawker-hurricane-mk-i-01
This one is a little trickier but it looks real nice. especially from the ground.

You can also follow this link to the which gives you a bunch of formations they use. I got to see them twice in person and the are spectacular. By far the best aerial demonstration team I ever saw. Blue Angels are nice too.
Who knows, it may even look good in WWII planes. Dont know till we give it a try.
